Dr. Almir Fatić (born 1975) is a Full Professor of Qur’anic exegesis (tafsīr) at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Sarajevo. He serves as the Head of the
Department of Tafsīr (Qur’anic Interpretation) and as the Chair of the Doctoral Studies Council (third cycle of studies). He is a member of the editorial boards
of several journals and advisory committees both in Bosnia and abroad. From 2019 to 2024, he served as the editor of the Collected Papers of the Faculty of
Islamic Studies in Sarajevo. He has participated in numerous academic conferences nationally and internationally. Dr. Fatić is the author of eleven books, one
textbook, and has compiled two anthologies. In addition, he has translated twenty-seven books. He has published a significant number of scholarly articles
and translations from Arabic and English in various journals, primarily in the field of tafsīr, but also in areas related to contemporary issues of Islam. He
has delivered numerous lectures and Friday sermons (khuṭbas) in Bosnia-Herzegovina and abroad, and has frequently appeared in the media in the form of
statements, interviews, discussions, presentations, television appearances, and special contributions. For many years, he has been publishing a regular monthly
column in the newspaper “Preporod”. He also delivers monthly tafsīr lectures at the Ferhadija Mosque in Sarajevo.
